ABOUT

MANY LIVES OF EILIS

Eilis (Irish Gaelic pronounced Eye-Lish) has always gone her own way, which has led to an unconventional life. As a child on the school bus, she day-dreamed elaborate plots and characters and has been formulating stories in her head during a life full of entrepreneurial and travel adventures.

She spent many years video documenting whales in Cape Cod, MA and off season, she traveled. She has hiked glaciers in Patagonia, kayaked fjords in Norway, and sailed from Key West to Cuba, among other wild excursions. Eilis lived in the US Virgin Islands for eight years and sailed throughout the Caribbean and parts of the Mediterranean.

After three years driving across the US in an RV, Eilis ended up in the mountains of New Mexico where she built a natural off grid cabin. She crossed the Sangre de Christo Mountain range to publish a community magazine in Los Alamos, NM, and worked as a clearance investigator at Los Alamos National Lab. She fell in love with a scientist there and now lives with him and their precious feline, Zeta T. They all adore animal watching.

All the while, Eilis developed a psychic connection to universal knowledge which inspired the Deep Mesa series. Learn more below.

Author Background

Like her character, Elana, Eilis, worked as a field investigator helping determine eligibility for employees to gain clearance to work at Los Alamos National Lab in New Mexico, where Oppenheimer developed the atomic bomb.

Eilis started her first business at age 16 selling tropical plants at a Swap Meet in California. She had a whale watch and freelance video business, built a yacht charter vacation brokerage, and is a self-publisher.

With a broadcast journalism / communications degree, Eilis produced videos documenting whale surface activities in Cape Cod, Marlin tournaments in the Virgin Islands, and a 9-week Semester at Sea on a 120’ wooden schooner through the Caribbean to Long Island, NY, among others.
